New 'Transformers' Trailer Rewrites Moon Landing History - MOVIE TALK on Yahoo! Movies

Man I can't wait for this next installment to the Transformer movies. It looks great and Michael Bay won't disappoint at all....does he ever? LOL.

Apparently, all the greatest endeavors in human history have been to hide the existence of Transformers.

In the first "Transformers," they said that the Hoover Dam was built to hide the All Spark cube that landed on Earth. And in the second movie, "Revenge of the Fallen," it was revealed that one of the Great Pyramids housed a doomsday device that had the power to destroy our sun. Now it turns out that our entire space program in the 1960s was just a cover to investigate a massive alien spacecraft that crashed on the dark side of the Moon.

Paramount Pictures just released the first look at next summer's "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," director Michael Bay's third and apparently final film with the robots in disguise. According to the trailer, when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were in radio silence on the Moon's far side, they engaged in a secret mission to check out the giant Transformer lying dormant on the surface.

Marshall Islands Disappearing

Yesterday I read a very interesting article regarding the island nation of the Marshall Islands and the fact that it is disappearing.  The ocean is rising and covering the land.  Why this is so near and dear to me is that I spent 6 1/2 years of my life on one of the atoll within the Republic of the Marshall Islands.  Some of the best memories in my life are from the time I spent on Kwajalein and the Marshall people are some of the most nicest people one can meet and befriend.  I am concerned about their economy which was never great to begin with and it is my hope, that the United Nations will help this small nation of islands and it's people.

Google under EU investigation over online ads

Though this isn't something cool, I found it to be an interesting read:

"In the latest blow to Google’s ever-expanding online ambitions, the European Commission, the executive body of the European Union, has opened an antitrust investigation into Google’s practices in online advertising. According to allegations made by Microsoft’s German subsidiary Ciao.de, British price comparison site Foundem, and French legal search specialist Ejustice, Google has discriminated against competitors by placing their links lower in search results than its own services, thus abusing its dominant position in online search....."

Texans and Titans Get Into Fight

Whew, I'm a big football fan and this past weekend, I saw one of the worse fights between two players on the field.  Holy cow, you just don't see this extent of a fight in the NFL that often.  Andre Johnson of the Texans and Cortland Finnegan of the Titans obviously didn't have much love for one another during the game.  Just minutes prior to the fight, you can actually see them egging each other on.  What occurred one play later, is crazy.  You can read more about it here.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. The one thing that I have always loved, is the kindness and giving that the salvation army and it's volunteers provide to families that are less fortunate. through donation of others, these families are able to eat hearty warm meals on Thanksgiving day.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Thousands of turkey dinners were served to the needy across San Diego County Thursday.

The Salvation Army held its 28th annual Thanksgiving meal at Golden Hall, where hundreds of families began lining up as early as 7 a.m. for turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. More than 300 volunteers helped to feed an expected 2,000 people.

Because of the anemic economy, more low-income seniors than ever are expected to seek free Thanksgiving meals, including people in their 60s, said Denise Scatena, a spokeswoman for the Gary & Mary West Senior Wellness Center on Fourth Avenue in downtown.

Meanwhile, families of needy students at five San Diego Unified School District campuses were treated to a meal at the House of Blues.

Thousands of runners turned out Thursday morning for 5K runs at the Oceanside Civic Center and in Balboa Park. The latter benefits the homeless services at Father Joe Carroll's St. Vincent de Paul Villages and raises about $4 million annually to help the homeless.

Thursday evening, Bertrand at Mister A's in downtown San Diego held a ceremony to light their Christmas decorations.

Also, Thursday evening the "Holiday of Lights" exhibit opened in Del Mar for the holiday season. The exhibit includes more than 400 lighted, animated scenes along a 1.5-mile route.

It's Getting Colder...Christmas is Right Around The Corner

Ok, so no cool things to show off today.  But that's ok...not everyday can be filled with the wonders of the internet.  Tomorrow is basically Friday for me...so technically it falls into the COOL STUFF category of this blog.  LOL!  Nah, seriously though..having a 4 day weekend is always great.  I hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving Holiday!

Cool Games to Test Your Math Skills

I found this site today that I thought was rather fun.  Math has never been my strong suit, and playing the games on this site makes refreshing my old memory a hoot.  Check it out and finally enjoy doing math problems.  Lol!  I wish this is how math was taught back when I was in school.  Would have made it much more fun....that's for sure.  Check it out here

It's COLD In Sunny San Diego

Ok, nothing really cool to post today.  Just wanted to state that I think it incredibly cold right now in San Diego.  I miss the summer weather already....ugh, 4 months to go before it starts to warm up again.  I am sitting here with my flannel pj pants on and a blanket wrapped around me.  oh, how I miss living in the tropics.  Possibly, one day I will be able to make my way back down there.  Until then, I hope everyone stays warm! :)

Cool Art by Michael Partington?

I stumbled upon this site today and thought it was pretty cool.  The art concept has to do with barriers and how we perceive them.  I just thought the art on this site was pretty incredible.  The guy is pretty talented.  I wish I could be even 1/4 as good as him.  I don't think my stick figures will be able to compete much.  You can check out his site here....

Next Queen of England?

Ahhh....it's nice to finally see that Prince William asked Kate Middleton to marry him.  Better yet, it's awesome that she is a commoner....and the last time that a commoner became royalty was 350 years ago.  Will she become the next Queen Catherine?  We will have to wait and see.  Read the story here....
